Having outgrown their existing digital solution, NZ Winegrowers were looking to improve both their public facing and member websites, in addition to improving efficiencies within the organisation. Beginning with a discovery workshop involving several stakeholders across all facets of the organisation, Terabyte undertook subsequent technical workshops with the NZW Communications team and some NZW Members, prototyping ideas and fine tuning the site’s information architecture and site structure.
Site structure and content accessibility are particularly important for the NZW member site, which contains thousands of pages and pdf documents. Clear navigation coupled with a personalised approach ensure that members are able to retrieve relevant information at the drop of a hat. The members site integrates with the NZW CRM, producing a customisable members dashboard which can be personalised by the user and NZW editors. Relevant favourite pages, events, important dates and tools are at each of the 500+ members’ fingertips, and no two dashboards need to be the same.
The NZW public website, fully responsive and built on Umbraco 7, takes the user on a journey through richly designed, clear pathways through NZ’s wine regions, industry news, information and education, and it integrates with the CRM for over 500 personalised winery pages including maps, facilities, wine styles, experiences, articles and social media.
We’re extremely proud of this project, which represents best practice for content-heavy websites, enabling the user to easily navigate, discover and learn via clever site structure and personalisation functionality. And we’re happy to report that the journey is far from over: we will be rolling out more functionality to further NZW’s presence on the international stage over the next few months.
