Prompt, Render and Publish - is the end near for traditional video content creation?

Technology & Delivery

Google recently dropped a bomb on the content world - and it’s called Veo 3. Let’s not sugarcoat it: could this be the beginning of the end for traditional video production as we know it?

Veo 3, Google’s new AI-powered video generation model, doesn’t just assist creators – it replaces huge chunks of the process. No cameras. No lights. No sets. No crew. Just a prompt, and boom... out comes high-definition, cinematic footage with audio and sound effects that would take a team of professionals weeks (and tens of thousands of dollars) to create.

So, what does this mean?

It means the well-adapted and meticulous craft of content creation – the storyboarding, the scouting, the shoots, the edits – are about to become optional. Maybe even obsolete.

It means creatives who once needed big budgets to dream big can now do it solo, and in seconds, from anywhere. It means clients are going to start asking why your agency needs three weeks and a $50k invoice to deliver something that an AI can render in minutes.

The key difference... (over Veo 2)

Google Veo 3’s ability to seamlessly combine the well-prompted high-quality visuals with native auto-blending dialogue, sound effects, ambient noise, and even musical accompaniment into the videos. This perfectly synced audio follows the mood, pacing, and narrative of the prompt.

Let's be honest though...

If you're in the business of content and not at least slightly panicked, you're not paying attention.

Veo 3 isn’t a trend. It’s a tectonic shift. It’s the same kind of disruption that hit the music industry when streaming took over, or the publishing world when blogs started outperforming newspapers. Only now, it’s coming for the high towers of film, advertising, and branded video content.

We’re staring down a future where the phrase “Let’s shoot that next week” might become as outdated as “Let’s burn that to a DVD.”

But here's the twist...

This isn’t the beginning of the end; it’s a challenge. Because while Veo might democratise access to visual storytelling, it doesn’t replace taste. It doesn’t replace strategy. It doesn’t replace human instinct. Anyone can type a prompt, but not everyone can move an audience.

Google Veo is not the end of the video. It’s just the end of how we’ve always done it. Google Veo 3 is redefining AI storytelling, and we’re taking leaps and bounds to keep up with the changes in this industry, to create some incredible work for our clients.

Google Veo 3 is a great thing - if you’re ready.
