The legacy site for Love Taupō was largely led and driven by Taupō tourism operator content, useful for planning a visit. With a rebrand came the realisation that there was a need for inspirational content during the consideration stage of a visitor’s journey. A website refresh was required to match the fresh, immersive imagery of the brand - to build not just a site but a visual experience. Implementing a new content management system enabled editors to tag and blend operator listings with articles and stories, resulting in a richer, more engaging experience.
We created a site that utilises rich visual content whilst also simplifying the user navigation journey. The new platform had a major focus on image galleries and simplified information architecture - Discover, See & Do, Taste, Stay and Plan. This helped to streamline the user experience and with back-end integrations with Eventfinda and Tourism New Zealand, everything the user could need is all in one place – one click away. To allow for user-generated content we also integrated the Crowdriff social aggregator, so users can get a real taste of Taupō.
The Love Taupō website not only provides information, but it also inspires the user, immersing them in the stories, images and experiences of this wonderful part of New Zealand. We are always proud to help our Regional Tourism Operators take their stories to the world, and Love Taupō is no exception. We’re looking forward to many more years of Loving Taupō.
