The Challenge

It had become increasingly clear to the King's College team that their website required an overhaul in both its design and its information architecture. The audience (parents, both existing and prospective, students, staff) needed to navigate this extremely content-heavy site easily and often from mobile devices so an intuitive, responsive design was an absolute must.

The Solution

A left-hand-side navigation was added to the site, together with a mega menu, enabling the user to easily find content without endless clicks or “drilling down”, as had been the case previously. The power of Umbraco provided flexibility for the growth of the site and future-proofed any further developments. Many pieces of new functionality were added, including the “News Hub” or media section. This showcases the school’s events calendar and news updates, and provides a platform for featured videos and publications. A comprehensive and mobile-friendly online application form was also introduced, integrated with the school’s CRM, enabling paper-free application to the school for the first time in its history.

The Results

Completed within a tight time frame (the start of term waits for nobody!), we worked and collaborated with the King's team to create a website that serves the needs of their audience and truly shows who they are. The team at King’s are dedicated to ensuring their audience is served as easily and efficiently as possible, and we loved helping them achieve that with a site that will provide an informative and easily navigable experience for its users, for years to come.
