The Project:
Our client came to us with a great idea for a community driven
forum site that would be an online home for Kiwis who had something
to get off their chest. It needed to cover a huge range of topics,
be scalable for the large user base it was expected to attract,
look great, and be a joy to use - and Terabyte needed to take the
project from that concept all the way through to completion.
We started by developing a brand and identity that worked well
online and in print, and communicated the core message of community
and free speech. Painstaking research formed the Information
Architecture and design, and quality XHTML and CSS brought the
design into the browser.
The resulting site has quickly gained a strong and loyal user
base, with thousands of participants discussing everything from
politics, religion, and the weighty issues of the day, to what
happened on shorty street last night. Joining the site is a simple
process, and users can comment or reply instantly. Conversations
can be easily followed, and can at times appear almost as live
chat, with the sites fast internal refresh time. On top of
all that, add in a smattering of social networking ingredients, and
the end result is a site true to the original vision.
