The ZM website redesigned, now a shiny new faster and sexier
version, is so full of awesomeness we are pretty sure this one can
leap buildings in a single bound. ZM online is one of TRN's
champion brands, and has a massive community reach all over New
Zealand. ZM averages over 405,000 listeners every week within their
19 markets. ZM is interactive, entertaining, spontaneous and
While super excited about the new website and new fresh and
vibrant ZM branding, there is definitely a level of sadness about
hitting the off switch on the old one. ZM's website
chalked up a lot of pleasure over the years and in many ways was a
significant contributor to us attracting so many gorgeous projects
and brilliant clients. Without a doubt ZM has been one of our
strongest referring sites. When we first went live we got enquiries
from all around the world, one because the design was so out there
and "on brand" but also because this rich and vibrant design was
achieved on top of a content management system - for those of you
who have been around for a bit, you will remember those bad 'ol
days when putting a design on a CMS was instant death to the feel
of an organisation thanks all the constraints. Back then, we said
"no way" to any kind of design sacrifice (something to do with our
designers stamping their precious little feet) and pushed the
boundaries of our own CMS to achieve exactly what ZM needed to be.
This same design (bar a few tweaks over the years) and content
management system have been in play for 8 years - having a moment
here but one more time with feeling - 8 years!!
But back to the new site and the client brief. Using the
new logo and brand guidelines, we gave the site a full facelift.
Our challenge was to inject as much youth and energy into the site
as possible, creating a more social and interactive platform for
the audience and hosts. Working alongdside MediaSpan, TRN's
technology supplier, the new website enables the ZM
webmaster to manage and create content with ease.
Thanks to the success of this website and the others we have
done with TRN over the years, we were incredibly fortunate to be
asked to re-pitch (and was successful) for the design of the new
sites. To TRN, thank you for your on-going brilliance and
innovation, your uber cool content, brands and teams - the new
website is smokin!!
