The Project:
Radio Hauraki has re-launched their Hauraki brand and needed a
new, highly flexible website to go with the new brand strategy.
"We're as amped as the new branding about the result and once
again Terabyte has delivered to the brief as we continue our
website refresh programme" says Carolyn Wong, The Radio Network's
General Manager Digital.
Terabyte are a long-term partner of The Radio Network's
stretching back to late 2002 and this is their first Umbraco CMS
powered website.
The website design process for Hauraki helped guide the new
brand development and the Hauraki team loved our concepts directed
by Steve with our Art Director Anne putting in the blood sweat and
tears in designing all of the site's components.
While we've developed many Umbraco CMS powered websites over the
last three years we developed an entirely new approach with this
project.
Our development team, guided by Mark (Our GM Operations) with
technical lead Olie supported with advice from Peter Gregory (now
with the Umbraco core team), invented a new way of developing with
Umbraco. This has paved the way for future Terabyte projects and
new efficiencies providing our clients with more flexibility and
"bang for the buck".
The result is that the website is unconstrained by template
structures and the webmaster is able to exert an enormous amount of
control over the site structure, creation of pages, and vast
flexibility over the placement of content and widgets on pages.
This flexibility allows Hauraki to be responsive to their
viewers, content and advertisers by being able to place many
different types of content wherever they want. They can construct
campaigns, events and other promotions without needing a web
developer. Radio stations also love publishing lots of pictures and
we've given their web masters plenty of options for publishing
images and galleries throughout the site.
This new website is delivering the Hauraki team the flexibility
they need to continue developing their pioneering brand
offering.
