The Project:
For Team NewsCorp, this was a significant project. Not only was
this development a large and complex site, but also it was
delivered in an extremely short time frame. The job was an overseas
contract, won against significant competition from the USA and UK.
The client is based in the USA and the entire project was delivered
from start to finish without any face-to-face contact with the
client.
Terabyte set up a secure client-specific Extranet for the
duration of the project that allowed both parties to contribute to
Estimation, Inception and Elaboration in order to finalise the
specification of the site. This not only included the functional
specification, but also the look, feel and navigational processes.
All Use Cases were developed interactively and during the
development, reviews and changes were managed using Clear Quest.
The entire project was reviewed and managed via the Extranet
through Design, Production and Delivery including
testing.
Regular site performance reviews allowed Terabyte to work closely
with Newscorp to set goals for each leg of the race in terms of
site visitors. As a result the site attracted over a million
visitors in the first three months of operation.
