The Project:
Sir Peter Blake was a national hero who was able to
touch the hearts and minds of every New Zealander in a unique way.
His life as a yachtsman, adventurer, leader and guardian of the
environment was tragically cut short on 5 December 2001 during an
expedition up the Amazon River. Those who knew and loved him vowed
his work would live on and the Sir Peter Blake Trust was formed to
honour his legacy.
Terabyte have been thrilled to be able to work with the Trust
team to launch their new website as part of the 10 Year Anniversary
Tribute.
The primary aim of the new site is to make Sir Peter's story and
achievements more accessible. It is equally important to
support his legacy, 'The Sir Peter Blake Trust', profile their
programmes and re-enforce their mandate of championing the
environment through adventure and leadership. Providing the ability
to highlight what others have done, we also open up an opportunity
for like minded people to connect through social media.
Our creative team were committed to paying homage to this
extraordinary man and his achievements on and off the water.
Through the use of exclusive video footage within the homepage and
inspirational photography visitors are given a visual insight into
his spirit, dedication to young people and an opportunity to relive
his adventures.
With a new About Sir Peter Blake section due to launch early
2012 we have collectively embarked in re-telling Sir Peter's story,
not only for a new generation of New Zealanders but also to a
global audience.
