The Project:
PAK'nSAVE is established as a world-class supermarket chain,
supplying Kiwi shoppers with "New Zealand's Lowest Food Prices".
It's thanks to a no frills approach and some very clever
management that PAK'nSAVE has become a preferred choice for so many
New Zealand families. After all, who's going to complain
about "more money in their back pockets" - just ask Stickman.
Moreover, it's never been more important to provide all New
Zealanders with solutions to their budget woes.
We had a challenge on our hands, we needed to provide PAK'nSAVE
with a web solution that would enable them to engage New Zealanders
online, but we also had to keep a very close eye on the budget -
trust me, Stickman is a good negotiator!
Our recommended solution enables PAK'nSAVE to engage with
customers online in a new way, without online shopping, or other
frills. PAK'nSAVE needed to get just the key information to
their customers, the stores location, the contact details, the
opening hours, and of course, the "Best Buys" on offer in each
store. When we identified a shift in browsing behaviour,
after noticing an increase in mobile browser traffic in their site
statistics, we approached PAK'nSAVE with the prospect of creating a
simple Mobile website.
The result is beautifully simple; built on the Umbraco CMS
shoppers are redirected to the mobile site when they visit the main
website on their mobile phones. The site uses HTML5's inbuilt
GeoLocation feature to narrow down a list of local stores to select
from, it then presents the user with the "Best Buys" on offer
within that PAK'nSAVE store. In addition, the stores contact
details and opening hours can be easily accessed.
