The Project:

We won the original New Zealand Parliament website project in late 2004 with it going live on 24th August 2006 (a date etched in my memory as I project managed it personally - Doug Hanna, CEO).

It was awarded a Webby Honouree in 2007 and has been subsequently recognised as a best practice reference for Parliament websites globally. We have been supporting, servicing and attending to enhancements of the website since 2006.

In 2011 NZ Parliament went to market requesting tenders to re-platform the website off the now unsupported Microsoft MCMS 2002 platform onto a new modern platform.

Against vigorous competition from some of the bigger IT services companies, Terabyte successfully won the contract and are utilising Umbraco as the controlling CMS.

The approximately 10 month development project began in November 2011. With over 300,000 pages of content, many incoming XML streams of content, replicated servers for publishing and DR, Google search hardware, a complex public select committee submissions sub-system, it's a really exciting challenge for our development team.

The project concludes with the development of automated test scripts to facilitate largely automated regression testing to support the efficient on-going development of the website.

We'll update this profile page when the re-platformed website is live later in 2012.

Our Services

Information Architecture & Business Analysis

An important first step in ensuring a projects success is defining a structure for the content and information delivered by the site, and planning for users to intuitively access content and interact with site functionality.

Terabyte uses wireframes to identify key content elements and base structure for each template, speeding up the design process by establishing what content the user expects to see on a screen and relative priorities before the full design is completed.
