The Project:
Following Terabyte's development of PAK'nSAVE's website, Foodstuffs
requested we initiate a Gap Analysis on their New World website.
They were thrilled with their new CMS and with compelling business
advantages to having the websites on the same framework, they
wanted to establish whether it would be possible to replatform the
existing site onto Umbraco.
While the back end of the site was set for complete change it
was critical that the website retain the look and functionality of
the existing site so that the replatform was seamless from an end
user perspective.
The new Umbraco CMS offers a number of enhanced efficiencies to
a complex set of administrative needs. With the ability to set page
content and promotions and specials at a regional level, Foodstuffs
are equipped to tailor the site view to a logged in user's
preferences.
A mobile
site which uses HTML5 GeoLocation to assist user selection of a
local store was also implemented. Alongside contact details and
promotions, the site Wine Finder Tool has been optimised for mobile
devices to assist shoppers in finding their 'perfect drop' while
browsing the aisles in store.
Now both websites are on the Umbraco CMS platform, Foodstuffs
have the opportunity to share code and functionality, thus saving
both time and money for future development.
