The Project:
In the lead up to the world's biggest rugby event, Christchurch
Airport ran a photography competition in a quest to find the BEST
iconic rugby field in the South Island. The idea of combining
the nation's no.1 industry - tourism, with its no.1 sport -
rugby.
The objective is to display the photographs from the competition
throughout the airport during the Rugby World Cup to showcase
Christchurch and the South Island to the world and present
Christchurch as a major hub within New Zealand.
The competitions was launched via a microsite enabling users to
send in their entries, after being uploaded to the site, users
could then vote for their favourite photograph. The top 10
photographs were then judged by three linesmen from the worlds of
photography, rugby and tourism.
