The Project:
The Oceans Gallery at Auckland Museum features a painstakingly
re-created underwater wall from the Poor Knights islands.
Often overlooked by visitors, Terabyte created an interactive
viewing panel, integrated with the physical exhibit, that attracts
people to the wall and encourages them to explore the many secrets
hidden amongst the crevices.
Our character, and animated Red Moki fish affectionately known
as the "dudefish", swims inside a portrait mounted 42" plasma
screen and leads visitors on a journey around the wall, introducing
short video segments, stills and information on fish as well as
invertebrate species.
As a result, the wall is not often overlooked anymore, and the
stories of the creatures that live in this amazing environment are
being told to an engaged audience.
