The Project:
As the name suggests, Cruise is a relaxing mix of timeless
classics. The station broadcasts within Adelaide and its
audience is predominately 35+ but not exclusively.
This design challenge for us was bringing Cruise into a very
modern framework whilst still maintaining that core classic quality
with which the station is symbolic. The key to good web
design is identifying with your audience, and sensing the
demographic was less the design team and more the company director
we were a little intimidated at first. It took us a few days
of watching the boss closely to realise he liked baby blue ties,
and wasn't so fond of surprises or wannabes. We also noticed
he talked about the weather a lot so we thought a sky motif might
appeal to him. Seriously though, none of that is true, he
doesn't even wear ties. We think he likes this site though,
and probably hums along to the odd Elton John classic during the
commute home.
