We care and contribute significantly to our community. The way we do this is by supporting selected charities and organisations that match our values and our skills. Check out what we’ve been doing for these organisations…

We were absolutely delighted to be selected by the Sir Peter Blake Trust to re-design their website in time for the ten year anniversary of Sir Peter’s tragic death. It has been an honour for us to bring to life the story of a brave yachtsman, humble Kiwi bloke and national hero.
In his own unique way Sir Peter Blake was able to touch the hearts and minds of every New Zealander. Even if you weren't directly involved in his activities you were always aware of his triumphs and adventures, with an overwhelming appreciation for his contributions not only in the sporting arena but also in his environmental quest. Many of us have grown up with Sir Peter Blake and wearing the signature lucky red socks has become a Kiwi tradition.
And our Terabyters jockeyed for positions to get on the project. Those that made the team worked above and beyond, just like Sir Peter's yachting crews did over and over again to win the biggest yachting prizes and to take Blake's environmental messages to the world.

The team at the Sir Peter Blake Trust feels privileged to work alongside the creative and professional Terabyte team, which shares values important to the Trust. Under tight timeframes, Terabyte developed a stunning website that allows the Trust to show and tell its stories with pride. We are now proud to call Terabyte part of the Trust family. - Siobhan Kane, Programme Director
The Starship Foundation is a non-profit organisation that raises funds so Starship Children’s Health (our hospital especially for children) can improve the care for its young patients. It’s a privilege for us to support this very worthy organisation.
Early in the project, members of our team were invited on a tour of the Starship hospital in Grafton, Auckland. It was an emotional experience. It highlighted their amazing work, not only as a provider of healthcare for New Zealand's children (within such a unique environment), but also as a major teaching institution for continuing education of our country's doctors and nurses. It seemed incredible that they need to fundraise over $5 million per year in order to continue providing this care and we came back to the office even more inspired.
The core requirements for the site exceeded Starship's available budget and Terabyte agreed to subsidise the design and development in order to support their desire to deliver a world-class online experience. Hosting and SiteCare is also sponsored on an on-going basis.
Within the Terabyte team we have families that have experienced Starship first hand and many of our colleagues also offered their own time, outside of work hours, to help the project.
During the course of the project we became close to the Starship team and we are now very familiar with the stories of their Starship Stars. They are proud of their new site, as are we. The new website is an integral information source for both families and Healthcare Professionals and equally supports the needs of these two, very diverse, audiences. We are also confident that it will now play a key role in driving donations and look forward to working with Starship as the site evolves further.
Starship kindly gifted Terabyte a picture painted by Samantha - a Starship patient - in heartful thanks for our support of Starship.

Starship would like to give a huge shout out to our web partner Terabyte who worked so hard to create the amazing new Starship website. We couldn't have launched the new site without their help and would recommend them to anyone looking for a helpful, trustworthy and wonderfully creative online organisation. Thanks Terabyte, you are all Starship Stars!" - from Starship's Facebook Page
November, 2011: 7 Terabyters, a client and an ex-terabyter were "doing it for the kids" by participating in the Les Mills Big Boot Camp Charity Fundraiser. Alongside about 15 other companies we helped raise $70,000 to establish the global Big Brothers Big Sisters charity in the Auckland region. The charity provides trained volunteer mentors to children to help them develop into positive adult citizens.

CanTeen is an organisation that strikes at our heart and soul. They do a fabulous job supporting young people who are living with cancer.
The CanTeen website sets a new standard for not for profit websites in New Zealand.
We've had a long association together and have built two generations of CanTeen websites. In both cases we have done so at a heavily subsidised cost plus our team members have contributed some of their own time during the build and preparing content leading up to the website launches. We also sponsor CanTeen's website hosting.
The first website was launched back in 2005.
In 2009, it was time for a refresh to more fully support the way teenagers are communicating on-line. As well as redeveloping the website, we also supported CanTeen venturing into social networks with Facebook, Twitter and Vimeo. Their Facebook page surpassed 5,000 members within 3 months with passionate fans outpouring their support of the organisation and recommending the fan page to their friends.

We are greatly appreciative of all your team’s energy, tenacity, creativity, skill and sheer hard work on this assignment. Of course we are also most grateful for the way in which you have subsidised the true cost of this undertaking. - David Pearce, Chief Executive, CanTeen New Zealand
When DonateNZ were let down by their previous web designer they came to Terabyte for a solution that would work. We recognised the importance of DonateNZ in supporting charities in New Zealand and built them a new website at a highly subsidised price. We also sponsor their hosting.
Donate to deserving organisations in your community, using DonateNZ's unique match maker service - It's like online dating for donating!
DonateNZ is an online charity that's a bit like a "trademe" specifically for organisations donating excess goods and also their services to worthy charities. Claire Sawyers is now a well known "good sort" who has donated so much of her time and passion to this charity which she founded.

Terabyte are honoured to support DonateNZ with heavily subsidised website development services and sponsored hosting and support.
Terabyte has been integral in getting us onto a website management system which makes it possible for hundreds of people to make exchanges throughout the country, in a TradeMe like manner. We highly recommend their services to anyone who may be interested in getting a professional, functional website built - Claire Sawyers, Creator, Donate NZ
Terabyte are a Platinum Sponsor of DINZ and have built the dinz website free of charge as a way of supporting our New Zealand design community.
Terabyte has always been a company with a strong focus on design. When Steve Martin FDINZ, our Creative Director joined the Designers Institute Board he recognised their need for a new website that supported the Institute and its members.
Steve, along with DINZ's CEO Cathy Veninga FDINZ poured in a ton of time and effort to get this project completed. A number of Terabyters put in their own spare time during the early phases of the project with Terabyte, as Platinum Sponsors, supporting DINZ by supplying design and development resources as part of the sponsorship.
Terabyte have made an enormous commitment to the Designers Institute, the national body that supports professional designers. The website is the Institutes shop window and we are proud that we have a lively, informative and engaging website. However that was probably the easy bit for Terabyte! As part of Terabytes Platinum Sponsorship commitment they also created a customised database that meets all our complex needs. - Cathy Veninga, CEO, DINZ
A personal project of Doug Hanna, our Managing Director, provides 10 families a year living with serious health challenges (often terminal) with a free beach escape holiday.
When a friend of Doug's family asked if he could take his terminally ill wife to stay in Doug's family beach house at Oakura Bay in Northland a seed was planted. A year on Doug pitched an idea of offering up to 10 families coping with cancer per year to have a weeks holiday at one of the family's two beach houses to Margaret Curry, General Manager of the Northland Cancer Society. Margaret loved it and also introduced Helen Blaxland, General Manager of the North Haven Hospice in Whangarei. For the last few years the service has developed further and extended to the Auckland Cancer Society and Hospice West Auckland.
Terabyte team members built the small website in their own time and our Office Manager, Lizzie Dean, donates her spare time to co-ordinating families using the programme.
North Haven Hospice has been using the wonderful service Doug offers to our patients and their families regularly over the past years. Their service is amazing, and being able to go to stay at a fabulous bach for free with their families has given these people immeasurable opportunities to make memories when memory making time is short! The feedback from the patients and families has been 100 % positive, they all rave about the experience. - Liz Carr, Counsellor, North Haven Hospice
