Requirements Scoping.
When we start work on a project, we hold workshops with you to help us understand your organisation, and how a website or application can deliver you value. We work with you to understand what your organisation does, your point of difference, your competitors, and where you’re heading in the future.
Understanding your audience’s key needs, and the content and tasks required to support your organisation’s objectives, is the first step to us understanding your requirements and ensuring both your business goals and your user’s needs are met.
An important first step in ensuring a projects success is defining a structure for the content and information delivered by the site, and planning for users to intuitively access content and interact with site functionality.
Terabyte uses wireframes to identify key content elements and base structure for each template, speeding up the design process by establishing what content the user expects to see on a screen and relative priorities before the full design is completed.
Interface Design.
Where traditional graphic design focuses on aesthetics and visual look, Interface Design focuses on how a user interacts with an object or application, and how to make that interaction as simple and efficient as possible.
Interface design is a huge part of what Terabyte do, and we have a wide range of experience in designing effective User Interfaces across various mediums (such as websites, software applications, and touchscreen kiosks) that help our client’s audiences to achieve their goals.
Brand Design.
Not just a Web Design company, Terabyte has undertaken many highly successful Brand and Identity Design projects, for clients in Industries as diverse as Network Engineering, Interior Design, and Winemaking.
From Logo and Typography design, through to stationery and signage, and even broadcast design, we can do it all, and do it all well.
The internet is a fast-changing place; rich content - such as video, audio, and animation - and highly functional web applications are now ubiquitous.
In the past we’ve built award winning online games, complex flash interactives, clever javascript-enhanced interfaces, and audio/video applications. We are constantly keeping track of what’s happening on the Internet, and put lots of time into research & development and training.
Standards compliant XHTML & CSS.
The backbone of every website, XHTML (eXtensible Hypertext Markup Language) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) are the technologies that render your site in the browser.

Development.
Development is where the beautiful, and beautifully coded, interfaces we design are given the technical heft to ensure that your objectives, and your users’ requirements, are met.
We were the first company in New Zealand to build a content managed website, and the first in the country to implement a site on the Microsoft .net platform (our development weapon of choice). We have some of the finest, most capable nerds in the business, and when experience counts – we have it.
Content Management System ( CMS ) Integration.
Almost all of the digital solutions we develop are fully integrated with a Content Management System, allowing you to easily update, modify, and moderate your content. We use both our custom developed Dynamic Web CMS, and the powerful open-source Umbraco CMS, both of which are built on the .net platform.
We have also worked very closely with other development providers to integrate diverse content management platforms into our designs, including enterprise level solutions such MOSS and IBM’s IWCCM.
Content Development & Management.
A website is only as good as the content that it delivers. CMS integration allows quick and easy maintenance of content, but Terabyte can also help with developing that content to have maximum impact.
We have a great deal of experience researching content, sourcing appropriate imagery, and producing rich audio / visual content. We know what works on the web, and can help and advise you on how to deliver what your audience wants.
Hosting.
Terabyte can provide fast, secure, and cost effective hosting of your site. Our servers are located in high quality data centres, with daily backups, statistics, and analytics all part of the service.
If your organisation has its own in-house hosting service, we are able to work closely with your IT team to ensure a smooth go-live, and make on-going maintenance easy.
